This Privacy Policy explains how the Goal & Assist Tracker app (“the App”) handles information.
The App is developed and published by Matelacom Inc. (“Matelacom”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

The short version:

  • Your stats are stored locally on your device.

  • We do not create user accounts and do not run our own servers for this app.

  • We do not show ads and do not use in-app tracking to profile you.

  • You can export an Excel backup and delete all data at any time.

By installing or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information the App Stores

The App is designed for tracking sports statistics such as goals, assists, and shots.
All data you enter is optional and is controlled by you. This may include:

  • Player name or nickname

  • Jersey number

  • Team name

  • Division / age group

  • Season or year

  • Sport (e.g., hockey, soccer)

  • Game or career statistics (goals, assists, shots)

The App does not require or intentionally collect:

  • Email addresses

  • Phone numbers

  • Passwords or account logins

  • Location data

  • Payment card numbers

If you choose to type personal details (for example, a child’s full name), they are stored only on your device.

2. How Data Is Stored

All App data is stored locally on your device using on-device storage (such as local storage / app storage).

  • We do not sync your data to our own servers.

  • We do not have automatic access to your stats.

  • We do not share your stats with third parties.

Clearing cache vs. clearing storage

On Android, there is an important difference:

  • Clearing app cache
    – This typically does not delete your stats.
    – Your data remains on the device.

  • Clearing app storage or uninstalling the app
    – This does delete the data stored by the App on that device.
    – After this, your stats cannot be recovered unless you have an exported backup file.

3. Backups, Export & Restore

The App lets you:

  • Export your stats to a local file (for example, an Excel .xls file), and

  • Restore data from a previous backup file.

These backups are:

  • Saved only where you choose to store them (for example, device storage, cloud drive, or email you send yourself).

  • Under your control. We do not receive a copy.

Because you control where backups are saved, you are responsible for:

  • Keeping backups secure and private.

  • Deleting backups when you no longer need them.

If you share a backup file with someone else, they may be able to see all stats contained in that file.

4. Permissions Used by the App

Depending on your device and platform, the App may request permission such as:

  • Files / storage access – Used only to:

    • Save an export (backup) file that you request, and

    • Let you choose a file when you restore from a backup.

The App does not access your photos, contacts, or other data for any purpose unrelated to backup/restore.

5. Children’s Privacy

We know the App is often used by parents, coaches, and young athletes.

  • The App can be used without entering full names or other identifying details.

  • All stats are stored locally on your device and are not automatically shared with us.

If you are a parent or guardian and are concerned about privacy, we recommend:

  • Using first names, initials, or nicknames instead of full legal names.

  • Regularly reviewing the data stored in the App and deleting anything you are not comfortable keeping.

If you believe that we have inadvertently received personal information from a child in any way outside of this app (for example, by email), please contact us and we will delete it.

6. Analytics, Advertising & Third Parties

Within the App itself:

  • We do not show advertising.

  • We do not use third-party analytics SDKs to track your behavior across apps.

However, the platforms that distribute the App (for example, Google Play and, if released, the Apple App Store) may collect their own technical and usage information in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not control how those platforms handle data.

7. Your Choices & How to Delete Data

You control the data in the App. You can:

  1. Edit or delete individual players or stats
    – Inside the App, use the “Edit” or “Delete” options to change or remove entries.

  2. Delete all data from the App
    – On your device, you can:

    • Clear the App’s storage, or

    • Uninstall the App.
      – This permanently deletes data stored by the App on that device.

  3. Delete backup files
    – Manually remove any exported backup files from wherever you stored them (device storage, cloud service, email, etc.).

8. Data Security

Because your data stays on your device, security is largely handled by:

  • Your device’s built-in protections (screen lock, encryption, etc.), and

  • How you manage backups and who you share them with.

We take reasonable steps in the code to:

  • Minimize the data we handle, and

  • Avoid sending it anywhere by default.

However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we encourage you to keep your device and backups protected with a passcode or equivalent safeguards.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to:

  • Reflect new features in the App, or

  • Comply with changes in applicable laws or platform requirements.

When we make material changes:

  • We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

  • In some cases, we may also display a notice inside the App or on our website.

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
